Classmate: “Hey Dave, let me borrow your ruler.”

Teacher: “That attitude is unacceptable! Go to the principal’s office, NOW!”

Classmate: *confused* “Why? What did I do?”

Teacher: “You do not call me or any other teacher by their first name! And my name is David, not Dave! When you need something, you ask for it; you do not demand it, especially from me!”

Classmate: “I wasn’t talking to you! I was talking to Dave!” *points to a student sitting next to him*
