(My two brothers have cats, but they’ve given them the most boring names, “Yellow” and “Black”. I hate those names, so I’ve given them cuter nicknames.)

Me: “Hi, [Nickname]! Are you being a good kitty? And you, [Other Nickname]! Aren’t you cute today, oh yes you are!”

Brother: “Why don’t you call them by their real names?”

Other Brother: “Yeah, those aren’t their names.”

Me: “Your names are too boring for such cute kitties like these! Boys think of such bad names for cats.”

Brothers: “…”

Me: “THEY’RE NOT CUTE ENOUGH!”
