*A friend from Australia insists he knows all about all the American holidays, because he has a lot of American friends. Each year, he continues to wish me various happy holidays, especially those solely for Americans, such as President’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Thanksgiving, etc. Last year, this happened.)

Him: Happy September 11th!

Me: *WHAT?!!?*

(I gave him a very stern history lesson following this, and he decided to only stick to widely-celebrated holidays from then on.)
