Mom works as a maid, and often her bosses are elderly and give her their old furniture that they don’t want. Mom happily takes it whether it’s broken or not. One day I see an old lamp and chair that looks 1800s-ish.)

Me: “Mom…what are those?”

Mom: “Oh, someone gave them to me.”

Me: *tries to turn on lamp* “Ow! It shocked me!”

Mom: “Don’t be silly, it’s new.”

(She tries to turn it on and it shocked her too. The next day, it see it gone. I tried to sit in the chair and it broke. Mom refused to give it away.)
