We are a student string orchestra from a local music school. That means that 90% of us only have music as a hobby and don’t have musical careers in mind. It is also worth mentioning that our conductor actually is fully employed in a professional orchestra.

Conductor: Today I have something special for you. Some film music from [big movies]. But this isn’t just any arrangement. These are the original scores. You know, the ones that the orchestra from Hollywood played from. They were not easy to get as they are extremely cautious about them. For example, even professional musicians don’t get to take the scores home. The scores are dealt out at the beginning of the rehearsals and are collected back at the end. Just so that nobody has the chance to copy them.

And with a smirk on his face he continued:

Conductor: Anyway, here are some copies for you.

Note: Yes, we all know that technically this is illegal. But hey, we don’t plan to play it at any concert so I think there is not much harm done.
