Unfiltered Story #342361
In my line of work, I often get incomplete or unclear client requests. It’s not unusual we need to contact a client to ask what they want or need. One day, we get an e-mail that says:
Client: Please send me form X.
Co-worker: Hm, I got a request for form X… I wonder what they need.
Me: Seems to me, they need form X.
Co-worker: Are you sure? I mean, why would they need for X?
Me: They probably have their reasons. I’d just send them what they asked for.
Co-worker: Hm, I’m not sure. The timing seems off. This form will be invalid two months from now. Why would they want it for this short period?
Me: They probably have their reasons, you can also use this form to request government support. For some, two months is a lot. So, just send the form.
Co-worker: Yeah, I’m going to call them. They probably mean something else.
The client just wanted Form X. That was all.
