Unfiltered Story #342035
(I have just handed in my notice three days prior, when I get a call from the Manager I’ll be working under in my new job.)
Manager: “Hi, [My Name], I have some bad news. I know you start next week but we’ve just been informed that our entire team is being made redundant, Do you still want to work for us?”
(I don’t say anything for a moment, as I really don’t have a choice.)
Me: “Did management not approve my position?”
Manager: “They did, and then… they decided to make us all redundant.”
(I’ve been working at the company almost three months now, and the redundancy is the most poorly organised thing I’ve ever been part of. I get multiple emails regarding my redundancy addressed to other people, had three intercompany transfer interviews suspended due to the HR Team forgetting they had to see me, and the action date has been pushed back more times than I can count. Somehow, I keep finding the motivation to do my job.)
