My company’s IT department is very large, and we have a remote connect system where you can chat with a tech and where they can control the computer from their floor. It’s all very cool, and this IT department has won a few awards.

I open the chat to speak with a tech because my computer suddenly isn’t picking up my printer. I go through the initial information exchange with the tech. Then we get to business.

Me: so as you can see, it’s not reading the printer, can you fix it?
Tech: [controlling my computer remotely and chatting with me] Is your monitor on?

I wish I were joking.
