Unfiltered Story #338991

(I am a part-time missionary and work Friday afternoons at 1 p.m. On this day, my train never arrived, which meant I’d be 49 minutes late for the 12:30 meeting that I had. Since my phone recently crashed, I haven’t put my supervisor’s number in yet. No problem. I call the office.)

Secretary: [Building], how can I help you?
Me: I’m [name] and I need to let [boss] know that I won’t be there until 1:19. Can you transfer me to her or the hosting office?
Secretary: Sure! I’ll get you to that office.

(A minute later, the call connects.)

Secretary 2: Provo [school], this is [secretary 2]. How can I help you?

(Provo is in a different county and the secretary somehow transferred me to the training center I attended 15 years ago.)

Me: I was calling the [building] hosting office. I’m a missionary who’s running late and need to let them know. Can you please send me back to someone at [building]?
Secretary 2: Sorry about that. I’ll transfer you to the hosting office at [building].

(One minute later…)

Receptionist: Provo [hotel], how can I help you?

(I called church headquarters and they eventually got me through to the security desk missionary at my building, who took the message.)
