My daughter broke her ankle days before her ninth birthday. It happened to be the exact same type of break I’d had when I was ten, a Salter-Harris fracture. Furthermore, my grandfather also suffered this type of break, when he was in his twenties. AND my mom (his daughter) had a similar but not exactly the same ankle fracture, in her teens.

Upon hearing this, my daughter remarked, “This type of break runs in the family. But we don’t!”
