Unfiltered Story #32859
The French teacher is local but grew up in Canada. We are speaking English.
Teacher: Why do you think Lilian (pronouncing the English way) is a male name?
Me: Lilian (pronouncing the French way) is a male name in France.
Teacher: Don’t be silly. Put “elle” not “il”.
I had to find him resources that say this.
Teacher: Fine, she isn’t French then.
Me: Then why do the rest of your people have French names?
Teacher: Fine, then. Lilian (pronounced the English way) is male.
Next class he’s decided that Lilian is a gay male, but still uses the English pronunciation.
