Unfiltered Story #32677

(Our school newspaper had just come out with a “White Men Are Being Oppressed” satire story on the back. Not 30 minutes after distribution, there’s a student complaining and harassing the editors about it.)

Student: “You guys should appeal to everyone, not just liberals and whiny people!”

(I’d just come back from lunch when he said this and responded calmly.)

Me: “Excuse me, sir. If you want to be here so bad, registration’s already over.”

(He quickly left the room without saying a word. The story had the word “SATIRE” in all-caps at the front of the headline. We joked about whether or not he knew what that meant for the rest of the week.)
