Unfiltered Story #32620

Unfiltered | February 9, 2017

(This takes place in genetics class with my friend. For those who don’t know, DNA sequences are made up of molecules that are abbreviated as A, T, C and G. The A and T molecules bind together, and the C and G molecules bind together, so the two strands that make up DNA are complementary in sequence to one another.)

Professor: “…the C-A-T sequence…”

Friend: [leans over and whispers] “Hey. You wanna know what cats’ DNA looks like?” [writes C-A-T-C-A-T in my notebook]

Me: “Wait a second…” [I write the complementary sequence below it, G-T-A-G-T-A.] “Wake up, [friend].”

[I proceed to crudely doodle a cat driving a car in my notebook.]

Me: “GTA. Grand theft auto. Cats are genetically predisposed to a life of crime.”
