(I’m in my Spanish class, and since I sit right next to the projector where my teacher does a lot of her teaching, I can often hear a lot of what she mutters. Note that at my school, we take a year of Spanish over three years, so we go very slowly, and at this point in 7th grade, are only on Chapter 3 of our textbook.This is her answer when a student asks a question.)

Teacher: “Well, look at the word and see what English word it looks like.”

(The student has a bit of trouble with telling which English word the Spanish word is supposed to look like. I hear her mutter this)

Teacher: “If you can’t match up English with English, I can’t help you.”
