Unfiltered Story #32580

WA, USA | Unfiltered | December 25, 2016

(I am in a class on research methods. We are learning levels of measurement by labeling examples in groups. The professor has recently gone on a tangent about precision when asking for a participant’s gender or sex.)

Me: “The next example is gender orientation. I think that’s nominal, what do you think?”

Classmate: “Is that, like, gay or straight?”

(I didn’t know how to respond to that.)
