(I tend to misspeak when I’m nervous, so I overthink what I’m going to say, which usually makes it worse. It’s the very last day of high school for me, and I’m ordering from the cafeteria for the last time. I have a terrible feeling that I’m accidentally going to say “French flies” instead of fries, so I repeat it over and over in my head. It’s my turn to order.)
Me: Could I please get…French flies?
