I am teaching an honors English class. I am trying to demonstrate an example of outlining, but a number of students are socializing.
Teacher: Excuse me. I am doing something called “modeling.” This is a method of teaching. The goal is for you to learn, but that won’t happen if you aren’t paying attention.
I don’t think this would have worked in any group, but it certainly shut the honors students up.
