Unfiltered Story #314718
I worked at a large aerospace plant where most workers were in a labor union. Management was too lazy to deal with slackers, so as long as you showed up for work, you could get away with doing nothing for years. That all changes during a strike; no contract: no union protection.
Once during a strike, a particular slacker apparently did not appreciate the union, and walked past the picket line and into the plant. Once at her work station:
Supervisor: “Hey, (Slacker), aren’t you on strike?”
Slacker: “Oh, yeah, I don’t care about that.”
Supervisor: “Okayyy…”
(Ten minutes later…)
HR Rep: “Hi, (Slacker), you’re fired!”
(They take her badge and escort her off the property. She runs to the Union Hall, across the street)
Slacker: “I just got fired! Do something!”
Union Rep: “They can’t do that! What happened?”
Slacker: “I was at my work station, and they came in and fired me!”
Union Rep: “Wait, you were in the plant?”
Slacker: Yeah, I was just standing there and…”
Union Rep: “Get the hell out of my office!”
