Unfiltered Story #314705
It’s a slow weekday night at the theater where I work. The whole last round of movies haven’t sold any tickets and we’re preparing to close up. I’m getting excited because if nothing sells in the last round we get to turn off the movies that didn’t sell and go home earlier as soon as all our other cleaning chores are done. I’ve just locked the door but we tend to still let people in if they want to purchase concession items. But that means having to walk around the counter and across the lobby to open the front door to ask the patron if they have a question. I’m working at the computer and I glance behind me out of habit to see two guys staring me down from outside. I tentatively decide to go ask them if they have a question and they tell me they wanted to watch one of the newer animated movies that we have playing. These are two full adult males by themselves wanting to watch this movie that’s definitely aimed for children. Also this particular showtime for this movie has previously not sold all weekend so I wasn’t worried about it selling tonight. I debated on lying and telling them I’d turned it off already but at this time, the trailers had probably just ended and the movie had just started so it didn’t really justify telling them no. I’m a kind hearted person and don’t like telling people no so I let them in and sell them the tickets. They then take forever grabbing their items, making them very late to the movie which makes me wonder why they didn’t come to the earlier showing we had today?!?
