I live in England, and am travelling to Ireland with my parents. My dad has gone for a wander around the ferry, but my mum wants him to come back to where we are sitting. She tries calling him on her mobile, but of course the call doesn’t go through. She gets frustrated, and moans about her cheap mobile, when I pipe up.

Me: (gesturing out of the window) How many mobile phone towers can you see around here?

She was not amused.
