Unfiltered Story #314512

This takes place during “lecture the students about the perils of drunk driving” season at my school; guest speakers come in to speak about the dangers and their experiences with the aftermath, classes feature cautionary videos and horror stories, and mood is just generally at a low.

In English class, we’re reviewing a poem/short story written from the perspective of a drunk driver. He makes the fatal mistake of trying to pass on a busy road, and the last line of the work is his last thought before he dies: “But I knew I could do it.”

Teacher: What do you think was his first thought after he died?

Student: “Who’s the guy in the red suit?”
