I was visiting my father at his apartment and it was the day for a health nurse to come in and change the bandage on his leg. While she was working the three of us were chatting. My fathers feet tend to swell up sometimes ( fluid retention ) and the nurse mentioned that it seemed to be visiting that day. So I mentioned that I was on a new medication where one of the side effects is lower extremity edema – and compression stockings work very well to counter it.
Me: “And I start my day with 30 minutes of cardio.”
Nurse: “That’s really good.”
Me: “Putting on my socks…”
* Nurse bursts out laughing and then composes herself *
My father is also chuckling.
