It’s Christmas day and I’m outside with my doggy for her walk. When I stand still to let her do her business, a family walks by. There are two adults of over 50 and two young people, either teenagers or in their twenties. I assume it’s two parents and their grown-up children. When they walk by, I hear the daughter say this to her mum:’
Daughter: ‘If everyone would just work hard for their money, *I* wouldn’t have to pay taxes to make up for allowances!’
Baffled at the lack of shame, I stared at them while they moved on. Yeah, accusing everyone who lives of an allowance, including chronically ill people (like my wife), of being lazy! Now, that’s christmas spirit! You go, girl….
