Unfiltered Story #312689
We are buying our first car and kids are pretty excited about it. So we go together as a family for booking. A salesperson walks over, helps us with our seats (we needed more chairs than there were on that table) and starts getting our details. My husband and I have seen the car previously and done our homework. We inform this to the lady and so we are ready to fill up forms. Our kids, 10yo daughter and 4yo son, haven’t seen the car yet. My daughter asks us if she can go over and take a look at the display vehicle and we agree. She takes her brother with her and both of them come back in a few minutes. I make nothing of it. Then the salesperson asks for her coworker to get chocolates for the kids. They both thank them, decide to eat later and keep in bags. Paperwork continues, and my son asks me about the car colour. My daughter has figured out that they had a display showing the colours and remind him about that.
Salesperson: Well, we have two delivery ready cars of same colour parked at the back in service area. If you’d like to see I can show it to you. It looks better in person than the display.
We go over to the back and really like it. We are back to our table filling up last of the forms. Salesperson offers us coffee which we gladly accept. By the time coffee arrives, we are done with forms and are waiting for the finance team consultation for loan. While we have coffee, kids decide to eat that chocolate, my son gets his hands dirty. He got up and walked over to the cafe, asked for a paper napkin and got himself clean. We finished our loan process, thanked all the staff, picked up our stuff, cleared the trash (coffee cups, napkins etc.) and were ready to leave. We booked a cab which is a few minutes away. I ask the salesperson, if it is okay to wait inside as it is a bit cold outside. I’m oblivious to the whole situation from her perspective when she says this:
Salesperson: Ma’am, I would love for you and your kids to stay here for some more time. They both are so well behaved and did not mess up our display. They were excited but polite and well mannered the whole time. We have seen kids- jumping around cars, throwing chocolate wrappers everywhere and what not! We don’t usually show the cars at the back as it is servicing area and tough to handle kids. But I was sure your kids would behave well there and they did exactly so! They thanked us for everything – arranging their chairs, chocolates and napkins. We are so happy..
I am speechless at this point! I start rambling…
Me: Well, thank you! But it is nothing much really. You all helped us so much!
We spoke a bit more and headed outside when our cab was there. We came home and thanked our kids. My kids have their share of tantrums and what-not; they make me pull out my hair on most days! But when they are outside they try to do their best, and I am grateful for that; just that hadn’t realized until the showroom staff pointed it out to us! My husband and I were super happy and our car booking became memorable for even better reasons!
