Unfiltered Story #312637
There’s a post about some criminal damage on the local online residence page.
Looks like some idiot has smashed up a load of outdoor Christmas decorations. The person posting in understandably upset, nothing was left and she comments that she is single mother, her children distraught .
Someone mentions a load of teens hanging around the area. Which set off one George, George is one of those people who hang around the parks and day drinks, despite being in his thirties, if not there, he’s driving around his his car plating music loud enough to rattle the windows. He seems to thrive on be disliked.
George: oh yeah, blame the teenagers because it’s always them! Why don’t you just deal with it on not bring it to Facebook.
Woman: im appealing for witnesses! Or that someone is decent enough to come forward and own up.
George: pretty stupid for someone to own up.
(The conversation carries on, with more people piking on and calling George out. While George tries to argue that kids will be kids, but that it probably isn’t kids.. )
Me: hang on, what time was this?
Woman: between 8 and 9, yesterday
Me: I drove passed there a few times about that time, I will check my dash cam.
George: another one, super sleuth. Give over.
Me: got it, are you also missing a small bear decoration?
Woman: omg yes, I didn’t even realise.
Me: I have three teens on video walking from there , one of them was carrying it. I will try to send it to you.
George: all this noise over some poxy decorations.
Woman: (to me) thank you so much.
(I passed on the footage and she told me she was going to hand it to the police. But she wasn’t hopeful.
Being an otherwise nice street a few people managed to donate a few of thier older decorations .
I reached out to the woman a while later, she couldn’t tell me much more , but did hint that one if the teens had a history of this sort of thing. And his dad who she couldn’t name but told me I could guess who. Was also in trouble as he gave a false alibi.
