Unfiltered Story #312491

Several years ago I had elective surgery and was just waking up to see my parents waiting for me after the surgery. I was on some really powerful pain meds and was less then lucid at the time. For some reason in that state my mind flashed back to the “David after dentist” meme, where a kid also on strong pain meds asks his father if “this is real life”.

Apparently, despite being even more out of it then poor David was, some part of me needed to assure everyone I knew better then young David. I apparently told my parents the same thing on 3 separate occasions.

Me: “This doesn’t feel like real life, but I know it’s real life.”

Yeah that’s right David, I can tell what is real life and what isn’t, so take that! Surely there has been no higher point in my life then showing up a stoned 7 year old!
