Unfiltered Story #312401
Growing up my Dad could be a massive hypocrite and was always angry and frustrated about the stupidest things. One thing he was very vocal about was eating snacks. He seemed to have a particular dislike for me eating sandwiches because ‘carbohydrates will make you fat!’ and whenever I complained I wanted a snack he would just yell “EAT A CARROT!” Yet him eating the same things was perfectly ok…
One day after school I’m making myself a peanut butter sandwich. My Dad comes in the kitchen and immediately his face screws up in an angry grimace and he points at me
Dad: CARBOHYDRATES!!!!!
Me: (shrugs) Yeah…so?
Dad: YOU EAT TOO MUCH FAT! PUT THAT STUFF AWAY NOW!
Me: But I’m hungry, I want to eat!
Dad: THEN…HAVE…A…CARROT!!!
Me: I don’t want a carrot, I want a sandwich!
Dad: NO! THIS JUNK IS BAD FOR YOU AND YOU’RE GETTING FAT! PUT IT AWAY!!
Reluctantly I put away and just leave the kitchen. Not long afterwards I come in the kitchen and surprise, surprise my Dad is making himself the exact same thing. Fed up of his b******** I decide to point it out.
Me: Why aren’t you eating a carrot?
Dad: What did you say?
Me: You told me that peanut butter sandwiches are junk that they would make me fat… so why aren’t you eating a carrot?
Dad: HOW DARE YOU!
Me: What? You’re always telling me to eat a carrot yet you never do and now you’re making the exact same snack as me!
Dad: THAT’S IT! GO TO YOUR ROOM YOU CHEEKY SO AND SO!
Me: For what? Point out a fact?
My mum comes in the room looking annoyed and fed up
Mum: Look (Dad’s name) can you stop shouting at him? You’re being silly here…
Dad: NO! GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW! THE BLOODY CHEEK OF YOU!
Mum: (Dad’s Name) Just stop it, you’re being an idiot!
DAD: NO, HE HAS TO LEARN THAT BAD BEHAVIOUR HAS CONSEQUENCES, GET UPSTAIRS NOW!
Angrily I go up to my room livid at what jerk this guy is. Not long afterwards I hear angry raised voices coming from the kitchen followed by Mum loudly making some point him. Suddenly all goes quiet and she comes up to my room 10-15 minutes with an amused expression on her face. She informs me I can downstairs and that dinner is ready. She must have pointed out my Dad’s hypocrisy and put him in his place because he was visibly sulking and munching his sandwich when I got down. After that, my Dad stopped bugging us about good and the shouting died down considerably.
