Our office has a number of standard in jokes we regularly use. coworker #2 usually works in a different office so he wasn’t aware of all of these standard jokes. Thus his confusion when jokes were being made about someone who usually leaves very early staying late for once.

Coworker #1: “He has to stay, he has ‘domestic problems’.”
Coworker #2: “Huh, what does that mean?”
Me: “That means that he would rather work here then go home to spend time with his wife”
Coworker #2: “Then tell him to get a fucking divorce”
Coworker #1: “Actually, I’m pretty sure the fucking is the main motivation to not get a divorce.”
