Unfiltered Story #301946
In the 1960s,my friend was engineer on a major road redesign, in an area that from time immemorial until the present day is famous for prostitution.
They had to demolish rows of terrace houses (row homes). Every time a home was being demolished, a different old digger (soldier) would walk over and say “you know, this used to be a brothel during the war” They got to know what today’s chap was going to say before he opened his mouth.
It’s quite possible they all correct, I guess. There were a tens of thousands of soldiers in the city over the course of the war, I am sure many brothels opened and closed during that time.
