Unfiltered Story #301027

(Probably just a “you had to be there” story, but it popped up in my FB feed as a memory, so I felt like sharing it.
Somehow, my husband and I were looking at houses in Texas, USA, on the internet. We live in Alberta, Canada, and we have no real intention of moving to the states, but it was fun to look. Some of the houses we saw were amazing, and the prices too. We could buy a 4000 sq foot house there for the same price as a 1000 sq foot house here. The following conversation happens.
Me: Wow, but what we’d save in house costs, we have to pay in health care.
Husband: Yeah.
Me: and guns.
Husband: What?!!
Me: Well, it’s Texas. We’d need a gun!
Husband: (just shakes his head at me and goes back to browsing)
