A group of us are waiting for our college class to start. It’s for a program we’ve all been in together for a few years, so we’ve gotten to know each other. One woman is friendly but somewhat reserved–she’s never the type to join stereotypical college parties with drinking and all, for example, though she never seems to judge anyone else for doing so.

Still, it came as a surprise to all of us when we were talking about sexual experiences and glanced her way to make sure she wasn’t feeling uncomfortable and she shrugged and said in a deadpan, “It’s not premarital sex if you don’t marry him.”
