Unfiltered Story #299857
I’m 190+ cm (6’3″) tall and one evening driving my taxi, a man flagged me down. He absolutely dwarfed me. He was easily 2m (6’7″) tall and 1,5 times wider across the shoulders than me. Had this story taken place in the US, he would have been described as ‘African-American’, but we don’t really use a term like that in Denmark.
When we got to his destination, he said: ‘First of all, thank you for picking me up.’
The way he said it implied that a lot of my colleagues might not do the same.
I said: ‘Of course, that’s my job.’
He then said: ‘Second, thank you for taking the shortest route. I don’t know how many times I’ve taken a taxi from where you picked me up to here, but this is by far the cheapest it has ever been.’
I could only reply: ‘I believe in treating other people as I would like to be treated myself. I can only apologise for those of my colleagues, who see things differently.’
I know there are some dubious characters among my colleagues. This incident just told me that it was probably even worse than I thought.
