Unfiltered Story #298979

I’m a mall cop, and I’ve got a short story for you.

I was called over to a kiosk to deal with some troublesome customers. I was wholly unprepared for this.

A kid who appears to be about six was screaming non-stop and running in circles, trying to climb the kiosk like King Kong climbing a building, and generally being out of control.

I asked the lady with him to control him and was told, “Oh he’s just bipolar.”

Me: “Be that as it may, you need to get him under control.”

Mom, slowly like I’m stupid: “He’s. Just. Bipolar.”

Me: “Ma’am, I didn’t ASK what conditions he had; I TOLD you to get him under control. Otherwise you both need to leave the mall.”

It was then that the kid set his sights on me, and charges me like he’s some sort of linebacker… only he swerves, misses me entirely and slams face first into the edge of the kiosk counter.

The kid staggers back, then grabs the counter of the kiosk with both hands. Rearing back, he uses his full strength to headbutt the edge of the counter, splits his head open and begins screaming even louder, staring at his mom with wide eyes, tears, snot and blood.

The kiosk employee is staring with his mouth open at this kid.

Mom: “Don’t look to me for sympathy, stupid. You did that to yourself.”

Me: “I don’t get paid enough for this….”

There was a LOT of paperwork to deal with before the lady and her kid finally left the mall.
