A few years ago I went on a trip that include a visit to the city of Cusco, Peru, (near where Machu Picchu is located). I couldn’t help but notice all of the rainbow flags fluttering in the wind. Our tour guide, pointing out the flags, told us that every once i a while some guests will say “oh look! Cusco must be so progressive!!” At which point he said that the rainbow flag is for the city of Cusco, and that they’ve been around for decades.
