Unfiltered Story #297314
I have anxiety, which manifests around needles a lot.
I was in the ER and they wanted to put in an IV in. I was nervous because a student was doing the needle; she seemed nice but I’ve been scarred, bruised, and bled like a stuck pig from accidents before.
The nurse supervising offered me her hand to hold.
It didn’t fix my anxiety, but it made such a difference. She told me that another nurse fid the same for her during a procedure and thought it would help me.
The student did great, and that moment will stay with me forever.
