Unfiltered Story #292990

[I grew up in a relatively small city. Of the many fast food franchises, there was only one of each type of restaurant. When I was a senior in high school, I started working at Wendy’s. Just after I started, Burger King opened a second store in our downtown area, about 2 miles from my store and the first Burger King, which was about 2 blocks away.]

[An assumed customer (AC) came into my restaurant and approached me. (I was in the dining room, clearing tables.)]

AC: Excuse me.

Me: Yes?

AC: Can you tell me where Burger King is?

[I was a bit insulted. They hadn’t even looked at our menu to see if they might like some of our fare.]

[I turned and looked to the west (the direction of both BKs), then replied.]

Me: Ok. You have to turn left out of here, go to the second signal at 27th St and turn right. Go all the way to the end; that’s Grand Ave. Turn right, then take Grand all the way to 1st St. Turn left at the signal, then Burger King will be one or two block down on the right.

[Yes, I’d given them *accurate* directions to the new BK, about 2 miles away. They hadn’t asked for the *nearest* BK, which was two blocks to the west.]

Question of the Week

Have you ever served a bad customer who got what they deserved?

I have a story to share!
