Unfiltered Story #292659
(It’s Christmas Eve and I’m helping my dad out by working at the register in his shop. Two ladies walk in and grab a couple items. Then they get to the front of the line waiting to pay.)
Me: Hello, ladies. How may I help you?
Lady #1: *Rudely* Took you long enough. We obviously want to buy these items.
Me: Of course. Sorry it took so long, it’s the Christmas Eve rush.
Lady #2: You’re not sorry, so don’t even pretend. Just hurry up.
( I could tell these ladies were going to be trouble so I rang them up as fast as possible.)
Me: Ok your total is [Total].
( They paid for the items, I gave them their change, and they were about to leave when…)
Lady #2: HEY, YOU SHORTCHANGED US!
Lady #1: YEAH, GIVE US OUR MONEY!
Me: *flustered* I can assure you, that is the right change. Your total was [Total], you gave me [Amount], and I gave you [Change], because that’s your change.
Lady #1: NO SHE GAVE YOU [Different Amount] AND YOU SHORTCHANGED US!
(I was on the verge of tears when luckily, I saw my sister pull into line behind them and looked at her for support.)
Sister: Guys you gave her [Amount], so she gave you back [Change]. Quit lying and harassing this poor cashier, who happens to be my sister.
(The two ladies whirled around to face my sister, who luckily wasn’t as sensitive as me.)
Lady #1 and Lady #2: SHUT UP B****.
Lady #1: *turning back to face me* CALL THE OWNER RIGHT NOW! I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO YOUR OWNER!
Me: Ok, We’ll call the owner.
Me and my sister: DAAAD!!
(Our dad came out of the back as both the ladies turned white.)
Dad: Hey, what seems to be the problem?
Lady #1: Y-Y-Your cashier shortchanged us.
Dad: Did she now? That doesn’t seem like [My Name], my sweet little daughter, to do something like that.
Lady #2: A-A-And this girl behind us in line called us b******.
Dad: Are you sure about that, because [Sister’s Name] is also my daughter, and she wouldn’t curse because she’s a very Catholic person.
(The ladies both went white as a sheet when they learned that both the people they were berating were the owner’s daughters. They left and I took a break once I rung up my sister.)
