My girlfriend is about to introduce me to her sister for the first time. It should be noted that we live area with strong Dutch genes—meaning that at five foot nothing, I’m essentially a dwarf among giants.

Girlfriend: *to sister* “She’s really short.”

Sister: *skeptical* “Uh-huh.”

Girlfriend: “No, I mean it. She’s TINY.”

Sister: “Right.”

We meet when her family gives me a ride home. The sister shoots my girlfriend a wide-eyed look, but doesn’t say anything about my height until the ride is over, we’ve been introduced, and I’ve been dropped off at my house.

Sister: “YOU DIDN’T SAY SHE WAS THAT TINY!”
