Before online banking I had requested a bank transfer of 600 pounds from account one to account two in writing to the bank. I checked account two and instead of being 600 in credit, I was in debit as they had transferred the money the wrong way.
They apologised and said they would transfer 1,200 from account one to account two to fix it and reverse fees, charges etc. I checked again and account one was now over 10,000 in debit as they had transferred 12,000 not 1,200!
Again, apologies, they transfer the correct amount of money and waive fees, charges etc. They also sent me a lovely bunch of flowers and a hamper, but I closed my bank account shortly afterwards.
