Unfiltered Story #287326
(I’m eating at a small fast casual place with a friend of mine. Nearby is a mother with two young children. I go back to the counter to get a chocolate milk. At that moment, one of the children is sitting on the stool right next to where I’m standing. When the cashier puts my chocolate milk down on the counter in front of me, the child gleefully grabs it.)
Mom: “What are you doing?! Give that back!”
(The child tries to hold it away from me, but I grab it back and return to my seat.)
Mom: *as I pass by* “I’m so sorry.”
(After I sit down, I hear:)
Mom: “Why did you do that? Were you playing a joke?”
Child: *matter-of-factly* “No, I wanted it!”
(I laughed. Kids are great.)
