Unfiltered Story #286281

This story is from 1985, when retail stores had simple intercom phones. There was a button you pressed for intercom announcements or, you could talk to another person in the store privately by not pressing the button.
Over intercom;
Me, I need a price check on item.
Response, On sale, for price.
Me, Thank you.
My finger is still on the intercom button, when someone else picks up the phone and says. FEEL STUPID NOW?
I picked up he phone and responded over the intercom, No I don’t, DO YOU?
Store manager called me to pick up the phone and I’m thinking, Oh oh.
Yes Mr. name? He called to apologize, saying it was him. He thought he was talking into a dead phone. He also said, good response!
Me, Thank you!
