As a teen, I worked at a fast food place. Often, male customers would flirt and/or make inappropriate comments. I usually took it in stride or came back with an innocent sounding insult.

One guy, however, took it to the extreme with explicit, vulgar suggestions.

Me: “Due to the threats and sexual harrasment of your remarks, I refuse to serve you.”

Him: “What?! How dare you! B****, who do you think you are?”

Me, leaning forward: ” I’m the b**** who is refusing you service. Get out!”

Surprisingly, he left.

Later, a male co-worker remarked, “I was just about to beat his a**. I didn’t know you had that in you.”
