Unfiltered Story #284774
(Baking is a hobby of mine. I’m making oat farls, which are kind of like a big oat biscuit cut into triangles. The recipe is based on a distinctly British book series, so whenever I make them, no one ever knows what they are. However, they are a huge hit with my youngest brother, who is eight. He walks in while I’m mixing up the dough.)
Brother: “What are you making?”
Me: “Oat farls.”
Brother: “I love those! But once I took one to school with my lunch and my teacher asked what it was, and after I said it she thought it was an oat FARTLE!”
(I’ve gotten plenty of confused reactions to this recipe, but nothing as unusual as that!)
