I’m a massage therapist. This is one of many reasons I quit this clinic. (Others being things like being way over booked, not having all the tools to do our jobs properly, and my final straw being written up for calling out the day after I was assaulted by a client)

When I was hired in November, I let this employer know I had a trip back home planned for April. I gave her the dates, I wrote them down, and I tried to help her find Someone to Sub in for me for the week.

Home is 3,000 miles away and 3 hour ahead time zone. I had just landed and got off the plane when I get a text from the office manager.

OM: are you coming in today?
Me: no, I just landed in Tampa. I thought we had coverage?
OM: I didn’t know it was today
