Unfiltered Story #28386

Unfiltered | April 18, 2017

( A number of people, including myself, like to hang out at a particular coffee shop. One of the people in the group had a strategy where when a contentious topic was being discussed, not only did he not listen to the other parties said, but would then simply repeat his opinion. When he was accused of not listening, he would deny it and claim he was listening. The other part of his strategy was after the other party had presented reasoning for why their position was correct, he would repeat his opinion onion When the the other party said that wasn’t so, he would put this questioning look on his face and say, “Why is that?” This would be repeated endlessly – at least until I had a go. )

Him: The government should force food producers to label GMO foods.

Me: Not necessary.

Him: Why is that?

Me: All we have to do is get the non-GMO producers to label their food as non-GMO and everything else on the shelf is, by definition, GMO.

( First loop )

Him: Why is that?

Me: I’ve already told you twice.

Him: … ( shocked look on face )

( Table erupts in laughter )

( He hasn’t been back to the coffee shop in over a year… )
