Unfiltered Story #28332

Unfiltered | February 23, 2017

I just put a load of cleaning cloths in the washing machine. They can get a bit grubby, especially the ones used to mop the floor, so I don’t like washing them with regular laundry, which means they were sitting in a bucket in the utility room until there were enough cloths to justify running a load of them through the machine.

I see that the laundry cycle won’t finish before I have to leave for work, so ask my flatmate, who is working a late shift today, to take them out the washing machine when it finishes, and she assures me she will do so.

When I came home from work, I went to check that she’d emptied the machine. I was very puzzled when I saw the washing machine was empty but there was nothing hanging on the laundry horse. Eventually, I found them back in the same bucket they’d been sitting in while waiting to be washed. It didn’t occur to me to specify that they need to be hung up when they come out the machine, so they’ll dry and they won’t get musty.
