I am at a general exam for my 7 year old daughter. Her doctor, a woman we’ve been with for years and whom we really like, is checking out her nether regions. Suddenly, she points towards my kids anus and asks:
‘Hm, does poop ever come out of there?’. I stare for a second, back at where she’s pointing, back at her, trying to make sense of it. ‘Out of there?’ I ask. She replies: ‘Yes. Have you ever seen it coming out of there?’. I give up and reply: ‘That’s the only place it ever comes out of’. She realizes the issue and starts laughing. Apprently my daughter had a tiny, old, fissure at the edge of her anus, and the doctor was asking if this fissure was leaking or otherwise making problems. Naturally, I am not proficient at what precisely an anus looks like from up close so I had no idea what she was talking about.
