Unfiltered Story #281835

So I met my partner online and we recently got up the courage to do a video call. We live in different states and as I don’t have a driver’s license yet, this is the first time we’d seen each other’s faces.
I got on the call, no expectations whatsoever, and turned on my camera just as they do. The following is how that went.
Me: *turns on my camera*
Partner: *falls out of their chair in response to seeing my face*
Me: . . . Is it really that bad?
Partner: *stuttering* No no! You’re the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen!
*cue a round of “No You” as we try to convince the other that they are the adorable one*
Later on in the call, I end up throwing my Rubiks cube across the room because they scared me half to death by returning from getting something, silent as the grave.
