(Every night as a kid, my dad takes me to the rec center because he’s obsessed with soccer. He leaves me alone to play and disappears somewhere. I think soccer is boring so I sneak back to the van and fall asleep. Hours later, my dad finds me. I can tell that he’s angry but he’s too relieved to yell at me. Later, he tells me that he thought I’d been kidnapped. After that, he didn’t make me go again. Sad to say, his obsession led to my mother’s and his divorce later though.)
