Unfiltered Story #281211
My boyfriend and I are returning back to our apartment after being gone for two months. Obviously, there is no food in my apartment, so we drive to a big name, chain grocery store to stock up.
When we get there, we see the parking lot is almost full, and the entry way gives me serious pause. We’re in the height of a pandemic, and only the employees are wearing masks. No one is social distancing; everyone except the employees are going about their business as usual. I even see a few people hacking and coughing without covering their mouths!
Me: I can feel the Corona from here.
Boyfriend: Uh, do you just wanna go to [much smaller grocery store down the street]?
Me: Yeah, that seems like the safer bet.
We go right back into our car and drive to the other store. There, almost everyone is wearing a mask, and EVERYONE is keeping at least six feet apart, if not more.
It was horrifying to see how people at [big store] acted, but the people at [smaller store] gave me hope that people are taking this seriously and we can get through this!
